June 2017

This month I’m excited to announce that Coco Alpacas has joined the county-wide collaboration of artists and designer-makers Made in Shropshire, and we will be taking our products to a wider audience from now on.

Made in Shropshire exhibit a broad range of inspirational products, including textiles, ceramics, jewellery, artwork, photography, glass, and food produce, through their monthly markets in Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

The group has a reputation for high quality work, so we were pleased to find out that our hand-knitted and crocheted wool accessories and toys meet the necessary criteria. We will begin exhibiting them in Ludlow this year on the first Saturday each month (next year we plan to exhibit in Shrewsbury too).

Animal update

Shearing is fast approaching: the alpacas are booked in for the end of the month and will be greatly relieved to get rid of their heavy coats. My females will also be relieved to get rid of their heavy bumps in the near future as they start producing their babies (cria) quite soon. When the cria appear, I always feel that summer has arrived properly! I will bring you up to speed with ante-natal and post-natal snippets of news next month.

Events

Saturday, July 2 – Made in Shropshire market in Ludlow from 9am – 5pm.

I hope to see you there!
Best wishes,
Jane.
